The story behind
InBody

InBody, a global pioneer in
body composition analysis.
InBody was founded on the belief that true health insights should not be based on estimates. In the early 1990s, our founder, Dr. Kichul Cha, recognized that existing body composition analysis methods were inaccurate and did little to help professionals make a real difference in people’s health. Driven by his passion for precision and his engineering expertise, he began developing a new solution: a device that delivers reliable, practical data professionals can truly trust.
In 1996, this vision became reality with the launch of the first InBody device in Seoul, South Korea. Over the past 30 years, InBody has grown from a small biotech start-up into a global leader whose technology is now used by medical professionals, fitness experts, and researchers in more than 80 countries to make better-informed decisions and achieve better outcomes every day.
What has not changed over three decades is our commitment to clarity, accuracy, and sustainable progress. At InBody, we believe that when professionals have the right insights, they can change lives, one test at a time.

Vision
Our vision is to give everyone simple access to measuring and understanding their body composition as a foundation for a healthy lifestyle. This should be available not only in hospitals and fitness centres, but just as naturally at home and in the workplace.
Mission
Our mission is to provide biomedical technologies that simplify the understanding of health and well-being.
Company values
Knowledge
Focusing only on weight loss is not enough. We talk less about BMI and weight loss and instead educate people about the importance of fat loss and muscle gain.
Motivation
Making healthy choices is hard enough. With our help, organizations can motivate their own clients to change their lifestyle and become healthier and happier.
Application
The InBody Result Sheet was designed specifically to show, based on your results, which diet and exercise approaches are right for you. Our advanced technology takes the guesswork out of the process.
Innovation
We continuously strive to improve and create a better world for current and future generations. With every new product, we look toward the future.
