Das Gerät friert immer wieder ein

If the device freezes during startup, please contact our service department. If the device freezes on the start screen, try disconnecting the USB cable between the InBody device and the printer. In some cases, stored data or printer communication can block the program.

The weight on my scale is not correct

Switch the device off and on again. During startup or weighing, there should be no objects on the scale and no pressure should be applied to the weighing platform. Then check in SETUP that no weight correction has been stored. If the problem persists, please contact our service department.

Forgotten administrator password: Use the master password to reset the administrator password. If you need assistance with the reset, please contact our technical support. Note: The procedure may differ for the InBody 380 and 580.

Wie kann ich meinen Zugangscode oder mein Passwort festlegen oder ändern?

Press the administrator menu at the bottom left. Enter the administrator password. The default password is 0000. Select option 1: Date/Time/Device/Password/Volume. Use the right button to go to page 2 and select “Set password”.

Wie lange dauert eine InBody measurement?

An InBody measurement takes approximately 15 to 90 seconds, depending on the model. The results are available immediately afterwards.

Wie oft muss ein InBody-Gerät gewartet werden?

InBody devices require very little maintenance. However, to ensure consistently reliable measurements, we recommend regular inspection, ideally once a year. If the device is kept switched on continuously, it should be restarted approximately every two weeks.

Wie lange ist die Lebensdauer eines InBody-Geräts?

InBody devices do not have a fixed service life. With careful handling, they can be used for many years.

Womit kann ich den InBody reinigen?

Do not use acidic cleaning agents, as they can damage the conductive contact surfaces. 70% isopropyl alcohol can be used for cleaning. However, liquid should not remain on or around the electrodes.

Welche Garantie gilt für InBody-Geräte?

InBody products come with a standard two-year warranty from the date of purchase. Warranty extensions may be available depending on the product and purchase agreement. Damage caused by improper use, liquids, or cosmetic damage is generally not covered.

Wie kann ich den InBody kalibrieren?

The InBody usually does not need to be calibrated, except after maintenance. The device calibrates weight automatically during the warm-up phase. Nevertheless, we recommend an annual inspection by an InBody expert.

Wie unterscheidet sich InBody von anderen BIA-Geräten?

InBody uses direct segmental multi-frequency measurement with eight tactile contact points. This allows the trunk, arms, and legs to be analyzed separately, without relying on empirical estimates or statistical average data.

Using multiple frequencies improves accuracy and precision. With a single low frequency, electrical currents have more difficulty passing through the cell membrane, making intracellular water harder to assess. Higher frequencies can pass through the cell membrane more easily and measure intracellular water more accurately.

How do InBody's 8 tactile electrodes differ from adhesive ECG electrodes?

Adhesive electrodes are usually placed on the wrist and fingertip. The voltage and current paths do not always overlap at exactly the same point. As a result, measurement points may differ. InBody therefore prefers tactile electrodes because the contact points are more reproducible.

Body water is closely related to lean body mass. When lean body mass is subtracted from total body weight, fat mass remains.

Welche Drucker sind mit InBody-Geräten kompatibel?

Almost all printers with PCL3 or higher are compatible with InBody devices. However, InBody devices are offered in a standard configuration with a compatible printer. The list of compatible printers can be found in the user manuals.

How do InBody devices work?

InBody devices use direct segmental bioelectrical impedance analysis (DSM-BIA). This patented technology measures body composition by passing multiple electrical currents through the body. This produces differentiated impedance measurements for the trunk and limbs.

Was ist Impedanz?

Impedance describes the body’s electrical resistance at a specific frequency. It consists of resistance and reactance. InBody uses segmental impedance values at multiple frequencies to analyze body water and body composition.

Ist die BIA-Technologie genau?

BIA was previously viewed with some skepticism. InBody technology addresses this skepticism with technical features that enable accurate and precise measurements of the body and individual body segments.

Other measurement methods include DEXA, hydrostatic weighing, plethysmography, and skinfold measurement.

Wie oft sollte ich meine bodyzusammensetzung messen?

The appropriate frequency depends on the goal and application. For progress monitoring, an interval of two to four weeks is often useful so that changes can be assessed meaningfully.

Warum ändern sich Ergebnisse, wenn sich die height ändert?

The volume of a cylinder, in this case the body, changes with height. BIA devices model the body as a cylinder. The amount of body water is calculated using height and impedance.

Wie kann sich der body fat percentage innerhalb eines Tages verändern?

Weight and body water change after eating or drinking, or under changing environmental conditions. Therefore, measurements should ideally always be performed under the same conditions, in the same environment, and at the same time of day.

Worin unterscheiden sich die InBody-Modelle?

All InBody models measure weight and body composition accurately. Additional functions and technical specifications differ by model and are shown on the respective product pages.

Can anyone purchase an InBody device?

Yes. The InBody 270S, 380, 580, 770S, and 970S models meet medical requirements and can be purchased by individuals or organizations.

Warum muss ich Schuhe und Socken ausziehen?

For accurate measurement results, the soles of the feet must be in direct contact with the foot electrodes. Shoes, socks, stockings, or leggings can interfere with electrical conductivity.

Can I use an InBody device without any special training?

Yes. InBody devices are quick, simple, and comfortable to use. Each model has a display for data entry and can provide the results after the measurement. Installation and user documentation, as well as materials explaining the results, are included in the scope of delivery.

Warum muss ich während der Messung aufrecht stehen?

An upright posture is required for the InBody measurement because it corresponds to the natural body position and supports reproducible measurement conditions.

Wie bereite ich mich auf eine InBody measurement vor?

Whenever possible, measure under similar conditions: after using the toilet, before eating or at least two hours after a meal, and without intense physical exertion immediately beforehand. Clean the electrodes with an InBody tissue before the measurement and stand still and upright during the measurement.

Are there any height, weight or age restrictions?

All InBody models have the same range for weight, height, and age: weight 10 to 250 kg, height 95 to 220 cm, age 3 to 99 years.

Spüre ich den elektrischen Strom während der Messung?

The currents used during the InBody measurement are very low and are not felt by most people. Sensitive individuals may be able to perceive them slightly under certain circumstances.

Welche Faktoren beeinflussen die Messergebnisse?

Changes in body composition reflect the condition of the body. Illness, nutrition, hydration, and medication can influence measurement results. Jewelry or an unfavorable body posture can also affect electrical conductivity and therefore the results.

Können Personen mit Prothesen ebenfalls eine InBody measurement durchführen?

With prostheses, electrical currents cannot pass through the artificial material. For the measurement, all eight contact points must be in contact with the body: thumbs, palms, soles, and heels.

Kann der InBody kabellos drucken?

At present, the InBody cannot print wirelessly.

Für wen wird eine InBody measurement nicht empfohlen?

Measurement is not recommended for people with electrical implants such as pacemakers or defibrillators, as electrical currents could affect the function of the implants. During menstruation or pregnancy, results may vary due to changes in fluid balance or body composition.

Warum sollte vor der Messung ein InBody-Tuch verwendet werden?

The InBody tissue improves electrical conductivity at the contact points of the hand and foot electrodes. Without the tissue, current flows less easily, especially when there are calluses on the hands or feet. In addition, the tissue serves as an antibacterial cleaning wipe.
